Rick and Allie – Candelas Wedding Photographer

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

This past Sunday, I was lucky enough to be part of Rick and Allie’s wedding day at Candelas on Coronado. Allie and I met back in January at the Bridal Bazaar in downtown San Diego, and we clicked right away. A few weeks later when we sat down for a formal chat, this time with Rick joining us, we all knew right away that we were meant to work together. Rick and Allie share a love that has grown from a simple meeting in their friend’s kitchen to trips and wine tastings and laughter and partnership. Each detail of their wedding had special meaning, from their family and friends blessing the wedding rings, to the tables named after places that served a significant purpose in their relationship, to the chicken cake toppers. Every little detail was carefully thought out and Allie’s many hours crafting and numerous trips to Michaels craft store paid off in a big way on Sunday. The wedding was gorgeous and full of wonderful personal touches that made it unforgettable for all involved.

Many thanks to Rachel at I Do…Weddings for keeping the day running smoothly!

Gorgeous flowers by Adina.

Meleah did a beautiful job on Allie’s makeup!

Rick waiting patiently for Allie to come out for their first look!

I just love when couples do a first look!

We headed off to Balboa Park for some bridal party pictures.

We also snuck in a few pictures at the Hotel Del just because we were in Coronado. :)

Instead of a unity candle or a bottle of sand, Rick and Allie opted to plant a small tree together into a pot. I love this idea!

They were whisked away on a pedi cab bike!

This was actually the very last shot I took that night, and its one of my favorites from the day.

I had a blast and Allie and Rick put together a great team of vendors for their day. Some other really awesome vendors of note are Chris of Black Tie DJ, videographers Tuan & Tina of Everlasting Video, Pastor Dave Weber and guitarist Mark of Spanish Guitar Del Mar.

Jason & Suzy – Fairbanks Ranch Wedding Photographer

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

July 4th is special every year. Its a day to remember our freedoms and take stock of how luck we are to live in America. But THIS year was extra special, because Jason and Suzy decided that would be the day they would get married!

You may remember Jason and Suzy from their engagement session at Balboa Park earlier this year. I remarked them that I loved how they couldn’t keep their eyes off of each other. This was even more true on their wedding day!

From the moment they had their first look, it was so obvious that these two really cherish each other and could not wait till they were finally husband and wife. This was my first Jewish ceremony and I had so much fun learning about a different tradition, so intricate and beautiful. There were just a few more steps until Jason and Suzy were married. :)

I have a long list of favorite images from their wedding day! The guests were so much fun, the details were absolutely gorgeous and the couple was totally in love. What more could you ask for???

(Jason’s cell phone case accidentally matched the wedding colors!)

This wasn’t actually supposed to be the shot, but Jason just couldn’t stop watching Suzy as we were taking some shots of her by herself. I love how he adores her!

Love me some emotional first dance action!

Love the super proud parents too :)

The night ended with some Hava Nagila! So much fun!!!

Huge congratulations to Jason and Suzy! I hope you enjoyed your honeymoon in southeast Aisa! :)

Last week, Rick, Allie and I headed up to Rancho Bernardo for their engagement session. Allie and I met at the Bridal Bazaar back in January and we hit it off right away so I was very excited for this session! Rick and Allie are so fun and full of life. They have so much fun together, and its so obvious how much Rick adores Allie-he could barely keep his eyes off of her!

Here are some of my favorites!

We were very excited to find this S…S is the first letter of their married name. :)

Rick and Allie-I had such a good time laughing with you! I can’t wait till 10-10-10!

Ryan and Katey – Torrey Pines Engagement Photography

Let me just say that I just love these two. Ryan and Katey are so obviously in love and its so clear they have the best time together. I’ve said it before and I”ll say it again: people in love are the best!

Ryan proposed to Katey at the top of Torrey Pines, overlooking the beautiful waves, so we knew this would be a perfect place to shoot their engagements. Here are some of my favorites from Saturday!

Ryan and Katey, Michelle and I had a blast with you guys! I can’t wait for your wedding!!! :)
