Well I’m back from Catalina and WOW, it was so much fun! I totally needed a weekend like that! It was nice to rest and recharge, and spend some time with my friends.

My friend Krystina is a hairstylist (and a really good one at that!) and did our hair really quickly on Saturday before we went out for a ridiculously long hike.

We went to the earth day thingy before hiking and climbed up these steps and found…

…this neat monument with an AMAZING view! We walked all the way from the water to here!

this!! Water on both sides! lol

(this 1.7 miles totally killed me…this was after walking like 2 miles already uphill, then we had walked a bunch of miles before. hah

We walked all the way up that dang path on the bottom. haha

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, friends and families of the Virginia Tech shooting today.

Having gone through a school shooting myself in 2001 (Granite Hills) I can identify a little bit with the total fear and confusion these students must have felt, though on this scale, I can not even imagine.

Awesome! Some of Michelle and Lauren’s photos were featured on trashthedress.com today! If you can’t get enough trash the dress, I highly encourage you to go check out that site and have a look around. There’s a lot of AMAZING talent on there and its totally an honor to be on there with them.

So I’m really excited because I get to go to Catalina in 2 weeks with some friends of mine, and I’ve been wanting to go for a really long time. We’re going to hike into our campground 2.5 miles and just be totally away from it all for a weekend.

Mini vacations like this are nice because you’re only gone for a few days at a time and it doesn’t really back things up or anything to just leave for the weekend, but it also recharges your batteries, so to speak.

Anywho, I’m just really excited to go camping because I haven’t been in quite some time.

I found out about a really cool art project today called A Minute in the Life. Basically, this guy wants people to take a picture of something during a specific minute on a specific day and send it in and he’ll post them and maybe even make a book out of it. You can use a pro camera, point and shoot, even your cell phone camera…the point is to see what everyone was doing that minute of the day. I think its a totally cool idea and I think it’d be great if everyone to the time to participate. I can see this turning into a really cool project!
