Memoral Day

May 28, 2007

I think sometimes we forget what Memorial Day is all about. I’ve been watching Band of Brothers all day and it reminded me. A lot of times it’s just cool for a 3 day weekend…we need to remember what this day is really for. All of the men and women who have fought for our freedom, and all of the men and women who still do. My grandfather fought in WWII.

Thank you to everyone who is fighting to keep us free!!!

We need senior reps!

Precision Interiors

May 21, 2007

Precision Interiors is the drywall and tbar company I work for during the day, and we just launched an all-new website, and almost every picture on it is mine! I took one day where I went around to a bunch of our jobs and just took photos for the website. I’m really excited about some of them because I’ve never done interior photography before, and it’s kind of hard to just shoot white drywall and make it look interesting. I’m always up for a challenge and new situations though so I had a lot of fun doing these. Go ahead and have a look around the website, and if you’re in San Diego and need anything done, we’re your company! :)

So the season has finally ended for my brother’s varsity volleyball team, and what a great season it was! They finished second in the league and even got to go to CIF! I created a slideshow for the season-ending banquet next week and thought I’d share it here. These are my boys. :) I feel like they’re all my little brothers. lol

Congratulations on a great season boys! :)

I realize that the previous post about “trashing the prom dress” might not have bee very clear, so let me explain. Trashing the dress is a phrase we photographers came up with the sort of describe untraditional portraits…like pictures of girls in prom dresses in places you wouldn’t necessarily think they would be, or maybe with something else on that doesn’t quite “match”. Actually “trashing” the dress isn’t really required, although getting it dirty or wet is a lot of fun. (It’s nothing a good dry cleaning can’t take out though!)

I think the website we’ve set up (http://letsgettrashed.com/) explains it really really well, and I encourage anyone who’s a little confused to go check it out.

And remember, the first 3 girls who sign up for one of these sessions get it for free! :)

If you’ve been wanting to trash your wedding dress, trashthedress.com has a post about having trash the dress parties in honor of their 100,000 visitor. Head on over there and drop a comment about trashing your dress in whatever area you live in. If we get enough interest, we could have a trashing party in San Diego!

Also…right now I’m looking for seniors who’d like to “trash” their prom dresses or graduation gowns for some awesome pictures that are unconventional and beautiful at the same time. The first 3 girls to sign up will receive a free trashing session as well as having their pictures published on a soon-to-be-created prom dress trashing website! Shoot an email over to alyssa@hybrid-photography.com if you’re interested.

May 6, 2007

This weekend my friend Sara and I went to Birch Aquarium and I took a few pictures of some of the fishies. :) The aquarium was really fun and pretty. See below! :)
