Last Wednesday I drove myself up to Camp Pendleton to meet up with the Calder family to shoot some photos of their whole family, since they only get together once a year or so. Here are a few of my favorites!

Welcome to my blog! I am a wedding and portrait photographer in San Diego, but I dont just write about photography here. You will find personal projects, a little about my family and friends, random encounters I have, as well as all the good stuff you came here for. So relax and take a load off while you enjoy my sometimes crazy, sometimes dorky, but always fun and genuine, adventures.

Monday night I headed over to Balboa Park to spend some time with my friends Adam and Chelsea and shoot their engagements. I’ve know these two for quite awhile, and it’s VERY exciting to finally see them getting married.
Adam recorded a cd called “Let’s Ride Bikes” last year so they thought it was appropriate to bring their tandem bike to the shoot and ride it around for a bit. The bike ones are some of my favorite images from the session! It just fits them so well.
I’m so excited to shoot their wedding in November!
Here are a few images and their slideshow:

Cadden is another on of my senior reps for this year and we shot his senior portraits Sunday night in South Mission Beach out by the jetty. He plays volleyball on my brother’s rival team, and just passed his lifeguarding test the morning we had our shoot, so we definitely worked those into his images.
I’m really excited about how they came out…here are a few from his session:

Okay I just had to share this because I’m soooo excited.
I got my hair cut and colored yesterday!
Before:
Sorry you can’t see it too well, but you get the point. Brown, long, boring. lol
After:

Short and brown and blue and awesome!
The good thing about this cut and color is that I can easily hide the blue if I need to (weddings!) but I can also REALLY make it show other times. It’s good stuff.
One of my best friends is responsible for this lovely work of art, and she would love to do your hair too! Her website is hardcorehairstyling.com and her name is Krystina, and she works at Hairspray in Hillcrest. Contact info is on the website.
Oh, and she does AMAZING updos as well…half of the updos from the trash the dress shoot were done by her, so by all means, contact her for your wedding hair!
Lately some of my friends have been posting images from an actual proposal. Like they hid in the bushes with a long lens while the guy proposed kid of thing. It got me thinking…I REALLY would love to do this. Like, a LOT. What a special thing to have documented…your actual proposal.
If you’re thinking about getting engaged or know someone who is, please get in contact with me because I would love to shoot your proposal.
Last weekend instead of shooting a wedding, I got to shoot the 3rd birthday party for my friends’ son Caden. He is THE cutest little boy. And soooo polite, even when he’s saying no. He’ll say “no thank you”. lol
Here are some photos from his party and a slideshow!

I hope everyone had a great and safe 4th of July yesterday! I know I certainly had fun! I went up to my friend’s house in Mira Mesa and after food and swimming, we trekked over to Mira Mesa High School to watch the fireworks, which were awesome! They were literally on top of us! I’ve never been that close before…and we all had ash and chunks of fireworks on us we were so close. lol

Now, imagine this video taken while laying down and holding your cell phone OVER your head, not in front…that is what we had!
